Stitch Studio is a cross stitch planner for Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. Enter a project once and it works out the rest: progress, fabric cut size, how fast you stitch, and when you are likely to finish.

"Do I already own these threads?"

Paste a pattern's palette into the Project Floss tab and the sheet checks every shade against your stash. It tells you what you own, what you are short, and writes the shopping list for you. No more standing in the shop guessing, and no more fourth skein of DMC 310.

IT DOES THE MATHS

• Progress % and a progress bar, from your stitch count
• Fabric cut size in inches and centimetres - handles Aida, evenweave and linen, including over-two, so 32ct linen calculates correctly as 16ct
• Hours logged, stitches per hour, and an estimated finish date based on your real pace
• Floss shortfall and an automatic restock list
• Days stitched, best day, and stitches per month
• 6,018 formulas in total. You type the facts; it does the arithmetic.

FIVE THEMES

Linen & Sage, Indigo Night, Rose Quartz, Marigold, Ocean Deep. Change one cell and every header, banner and tile across all twelve tabs recolours at once.

(Honest note: chart colours stay fixed. Neither Excel nor Google Sheets can drive a chart's colour from a cell value.)

WORKS WITH

• Google Sheets - free Google account, no subscription. Syncs to your phone and tablet, so your floss list is with you in the shop.
• Microsoft 365, Excel 2021, Excel 2019, Excel for Mac.
• Every formula is a function that has existed since Excel 2007, so nothing needs a current subscription to calculate.

Note: Google Sheets does not support graphical data bars, so those cells show the number instead. The text progress bar on the Projects tab works on both. The Full Guide has a plain comparison table.
