THE DESIGN

"Seismograph". A helicorder writes one unbroken line onto a rotating drum, so a whole day is a stack of near-identical traces and the only thing that matters is the hour where the line goes wide. This edition is that drum: three trace fields at a thirty-four-pixel drum pitch, two quiet and one carrying a red event, hour rules crossing them, and a trace fragment ruled under every heading. The point of the design is that most of it is calm.
